Nordlingen, a medieval German town, sits within the 15-million-year-old Nordlinger Ries meteor crater. Its buildings, including St. George's Church, are constructed from suevite, a rock containing microscopic diamonds formed during the asteroid impact. NASA used the site to train Apollo astronauts due to its lunar-like terrain.
