국방부는 28일 경기도 포천 승진과학화훈련장에서 안규백 장관 주관으로 '2026 합동화력훈련'을 실시했다고 밝혔다. 이 훈련에는 육·해·공군 및 해병대 27개 부대와 장병 1천400여명이 참여했고, 기동·화력·항공전력 96종 457대 장비가 투입됐다. K2 전차, K9 자주포, KF-21 전투기를 비롯해 정찰·자폭 드론과 다족보행로봇 등 현대전에 투입되는 무인·인공지능(AI) 전력도 대거 참가했다.

적의 기습공격을 가정한 1부 방어작전 훈련에선 AI 지휘결심지원체계와 무인전투체계 시범부대를 중심으로 적 공격을 신속하게 격퇴하는 절차를 전개했다. 2부 훈련에선 합동화력을 토대로 적 기계화 전력을 제압·타격하고, 유무인 복합 전투체계를 활용해 최단 시간, 최소 희생으로 합동작전에 승리하는 모습을 선보였다.

국군 주요 전력이 참여하는 화력시범훈련은 1977년 처음 시작해 이번이 13번째로, 현 정부 들어 처음 실시됐다.
