Seven ... SEVEN ... goals in a row for the Giants

K By Kyle Pollard It's forward pressure again and it's Cadman again, who wins the holding the ball decision in the forward pocket and snaps truly.

SEVEN goals in a row. It feels like the Lions have barely had seven kicks this quarter. This is insanity!

Greene has another one!

K By Kyle Pollard The forward pressure is off the chain and Jake Stringer catches Harris Andrews, forcing the pill to spill out. Toby Greene swoops and snaps another major!

Oh stop it! It's another goal!

K By Kyle Pollard Cadman is involved again at ground level but it's Gothard who executes a lovely little soccer kick to himself, picks up the pill, and snaps truly!

The Lions have barely touched the ball this quarter and the Giants have five goals after five minutes!

The Giants have goaled again!!!

K By Kyle Pollard It's four goals in four minutes and this time it's Brent Daniels, who has had a massive start to this quarter, he's been in everything.

The lead is suddenly 30 points!

Cadman kicks another one!

K By Kyle Pollard What a start by the Giants! Cadman wins the incorrect disposal free kick against Lachie Neale, and converts truly.

Cadman's another one of those players who has had a bit of a nearly day. He's been in everything and now finally gets reward.

Two in a row for GWS!

K By Kyle Pollard Electric stuff from GWS! Finn Callaghan gets the releasing handball at halfback that opens the play up, concluding in Jake Stringer getting onto a wide open forward lead.

He converts truly from about 40m out directly in front. They're three goals in front and that feels like it might as well be 40 points in this game.

Giants on the board after 20 seconds!

K By Kyle Pollard We're back underway in Sydney and the Giants are straight out of the middle and straight on the board!

Gothard has had a few missed chances this game but this one he nails, snapping off the right truly! Huge start for GWS!

K By Kyle Pollard The Giants got out to a game high 11-point lead but really should be further out in front after dominating in their forward half.

A few selfish decisions here and there in front of goal might prove costly, but to focus on that would be unfair to a midfield group that has looked explosive for the Giants.

Clayton Oliver has played one of the best first halves of his career - which is saying something - and the former Demon has 20 touches with 462m gained, almost 100m more than the next best on the field.

For the Lions, it's Lachie Neale and Darcy Wilmot who are doing their fair share of the heavy-lifting, but the the taller targets up forward just aren't clicking today, with Logan Morris have very much a 'nearly' day.

Lohmann brings it back to a straight kick

K By Kyle Pollard The Giants get a taste of their own medicine via the Maroon Tsunami (TM).

They go end-to-end from the kick out after a Giants behind and it's Kai Lohmann who cashes in at the other end.

The behind that led to the kick-in came from a bad decision by Jake Stringer to kick for goal instead of picking one of two open teammates in the F50.

K By Kyle Pollard They finally get the small break and it comes via Max Gruzewski winning in the one-on-one against Harris Andrews. Was it a push ... yes ... yes it was.

But the goal stands and the Giants have a game high 11-point lead.

Cadman puts the Giants back in front!

K By Kyle Pollard The Giants did everything they could to not score that goal but finally they get it to Aaron Cadman who dribbles it through on the line.

We had a poor decision from Gothard to snap at goal instead of handing off, we had a throw from Gothard in the ensuing play, we had a missed handball from Coniglio ... but they finally got the goal! Giants back in front.

A bad turnover from the Giants

K By Kyle Pollard Oh no, it's a turnover from the Harry Himmelberg kick-in.

Will McLachlan reads the short pass well and brings it to ground, allowing Charlie Cameron to clean it up and snap truly.

That's a bad blue and the Giants will be flat after dominating much of this quarter.

Riccardi kicks his second!

K By Kyle Pollard The Giants have been threatening for about the past five minutes and finally get their reward, after some great pressure work from Finn Callaghan in the middle, before he bursts through the pack and deliver the ball to Jake Riccardi.

Riccardi snaps truly and the Giants deserved that for all the work.

Lachie Neale kicks the first of the second

K By Kyle Pollard It's a free kick in the F50 for the Brownlow medallist and I'll have to have a look at the replay to see what happened ... yep, it's there, he was caught high while collecting the pill on the turf.

Scores tied up again.

K By Kyle Pollard It's awesome attacking footy in this first quarter and the Giants are the team that hold a slim lead heading into the second term.

Lachie Neale and Cam Rayner have looked dangerous for the Lions while Clayton Oliver has looked explosive for the Giants. The end-to-end work from GWS has been a sight to behold but the Lions have looked the cleaner of the two teams in their attacking 50.

A huge loss for GWS with Jack Buckley ruled out of the game with a hamstring, having already lost Lachie Whitfield to hamstring awareness before the match.

Brown snaps a major!

K By Kyle Pollard It's an outside of the foot snap from Callum Brown after roving the pack and the Giants go ahead by that goal.

K By Kyle Pollard The ice is on the hamstring and that looks like day done for the defender. A huge loss for the Giants after losing Lachie Whitfield before the game as well.

Bedford snaps truly!

K By Kyle Pollard The Orange Tsunami (TM) in its purest form! It's lovely end to end stuff from the Giants and Toby Bedford is rewarded for hard running after following the play almost the entire way.
