Darcy Wilson brings St Kilda closer
A
By Andrew McGarry
The Saints needed that!
They force an error out of Marcus Bontempelli, then burst forward and Sam Butler chips inside 50 for Darcy Wilson, who takes the mark.
The Saints young gun kicks the goal and the lead is back within a kick.
More injury trouble for Saints as De Koning off
A
By Andrew McGarry
Saints coach Ross Lyon will be concerned at his team's injury issues.
After losing rebounding defender Jack Sinclair, St Kilda's big recruit Tom De Koning has come from the ground in all sorts of discomfort.
He was involved in an aerial contest with the Bulldogs' Buku Khamis, and they collided and De Koning was on the ground for a while after copping a knee to the ribs.
He is being spoken to by medical staff, and he looks in serious pain. Let's hope it's not too serious.
Bulldogs hit the front
A
By Andrew McGarry
It hasn't taken too long in the second quarter at Docklands for the Bulldogs to hit the front.
The Dogs had a forward 50 stoppage, and it was a perfectly-timed handball from Rhylee West that found Cooper Hynes, who snapped a goal from the top of the square.
They lead by five points early in the quarter.
QT: St Kilda 3.4 (22) leads Western Bulldogs 3.2 (20)

What happened to Jack Sinclair?
- Sam
Sam,
I didn't see the incident, but Sinclair didn't look good limping down to the rooms. They're saying now it's a calf injury, and he's out for the rest of the game.
That's a blow for the Saints. Let's hope it's not too severe.
On the field the score has turned around. The Bulldogs got off to a fast start, but St Kilda hit back with goals to Cooper Sharman, Jack Higgins and Tom De Koning.
There's virtually nothing in it at quarter time, but the Saints will miss the running and possession-getting ability of Sinclair.
FT: North Melbourne 10.13 (73) beats Richmond 6.12 (48)

Tristan Xerri got his fingers to a ball from Tim Taranto just before it crossed the back of the goal-line, and the Kangaroos get the win.
North get the chocolates with a 25-point win.
You can't say it was a huge performance from Richmond, or the Kangaroos either. But Xerri's presence in the ruck and up forward, and Cooper Trembath's latest big game just showed North was the better side.
That's North Melbourne's seventh win of the season, and they are in the top 10 for now.
Dylan Stephens seals it for the Kangaroos!
A
By Andrew McGarry
That's the sealer! The Kangaroos have been under a bit of pressure, but they broke down the left wing, extracted the ball and fed it to Dylan Stephens, who snapped the goal. North lead by four goals.
Time running out for the Tigers
A
By Andrew McGarry
It's been a scrappy few minutes at the MCG, and the Tigers just can't get the goal or two they need to put the pressure back on North.
We are into time on, and Jasper Alger has just missed a shot - the lead is still 20 points with under five to go.
Bulldogs get the early lead at Docklands
A
By Andrew McGarry
Things are underway at Docklands, with Western Bulldogs taking the early lead against St Kilda.
Will Lewis has two goals for the Dogs, who lead 3.1 (19) to 2.2 (14).
Richmond gets the quick reply!
A
By Andrew McGarry
The noise levels are rising at the MCG, as the Tigers fans sense their team are still a chance.
A bit of chaos footy, the ball goes to the square, it rolls clear and Liam Fawcett grabs it and boots it into the stands from a couple of metres out!
The Tigers trail by 21 points, with more than a half a quarter of footy to go.
Tristan Xerri answers for the Kangaroos
A
By Andrew McGarry
The pressure has risen on the Kangaroos, but they have been the better side for most of the day, and they have kept their composure.
A kick inside 50 for a tough contested mark from Tristan Xerri. The big man goes back and kicks the goal to steady the Kangaroos. The lead is back to 27 points.
Balta gets back-to-back goals for Richmond
A
By Andrew McGarry
Ok, the Tigers are not giving up!
Toby Nankervis is starting to win some ball in the middle, and the Tigers are surging forward.
Noah Balta has benefited again, and he kicks his second in quick time.
The lead is back to 22 points.
Recent results between St Kilda and Western Bulldogs
A
By Andrew McGarry
R15, 2025: Western Bulldogs by 72 (Docklands)
R7, 2025: Western Bulldogs by 71 (Docklands)
R7, 2024: Western Bulldogs by 60 (Docklands)
R2, 2023: Western Bulldogs by 51 (Docklands)
R18, 2022: St Kilda by 28 (Docklands)
R10, 2021: Western Bulldogs by 111 (Docklands)
A quick scan of recent results might suggest this one today might be a one-sided affair. The Bulldogs have won five of the last six encounters between the two sides, and the average margin for all six has been a whopping 65.5 points.
However the Saints are coming off an important win under the roof against GWS, and the Bulldogs were thumped by the Crows in Adelaide last week.
You would think that the Bulldogs will be better away from the City of Churches, and the Saints will fancy their chances of going back-to-back.
Noah Balta answers for Richmond
A
By Andrew McGarry
Well that was better from the Tigers.
They got the ball out of the middle, went direct inside 50 and Noah Balta picked it up, turned and kicked a goal.
Kangaroos get the first goal of the final term
A
By Andrew McGarry
The momentum has continued into the last quarter, with the Kangaroos taking the risks that the Tigers need to take (but haven't so far).
They've had a couple of misses, but they've flicked a switch there at a stoppage on the wing.
Jacob Konstanty got the quick handball out to George Wardlaw, who hit the gap on the burst, ran to just inside 50 and kicked the goal. The lead is out to 34 points.
3QT Stats
A
By Andrew McGarry
Inside 50s: 35-33 North Melbourne
Clearances: 18-17 North Melbourne
Centre clearances: 5-5
Contested possessions: 86-79 North Melbourne
Uncontested possessions: 201-161 North Melbourne
Marks inside 50: 12-5 North Melbourne
Tackles: 40-30 North Melbourne
The list tells it all, North are winning across the board, aside from centre clearances - and that doesn't matter because the Tigers are just not having an impact in the forward line.
3QT: North Melbourne 7.10 (52) leads Richmond 3.8 (26)

The quarter ends with the Kangaroos having double the Tigers' score at the MCG. It may be a low-scoring game, but that's still not a great look.
The Kangaroos kicked the only three goals of the quarter, and they have control of this one, mainly thanks to the dynamic display from Cooper Trembath, who has a lazy four goals to the final break.
Hard to see a way back here from the Tigers, they need to start by getting better looks inside 50.
Cooper Trembath kicks his fourth of the day as Kangaroos take control
A
By Andrew McGarry
It's not a completely one-sided contest at the MCG, but there is one very big difference between the sides - and he wears the number 47 for the Kangaroos.
Cooper Trembath is just an X-Factor for North, with his ruck ability, his marking and kicking for goal.
The Tigers don't have an answer here, and he's just marked and kicked his fourth of the day. The Kangaroos lead by 26 points, and they are threatening to blow this one open.
Tigers chances few and far between
A
By Andrew McGarry
Richmond has kept the inside 50 count roughly level since half-time, but the Tigers haven't really been able to do anything with it.
They had one kick a couple of minutes ago from deep in the left forward pocket, but James Trezise's shot was never on line and went out on the full.
