Alfa Romeo: Giulia and Stelvio production ends in 2027, new C-segment models coming

During the Stellantis Investor Day 2026, the Group also outlined how the Biscione's programs will change: the SUV and sedan in production until 2027 but should not be renewed then or at least not in the short term, in their place a new C-segment Sport Utility and a hatchback of the same segment that will pick up the legacy of the 147 and Giulietta.

The future of Alfa Romeo is changing and is taking a different shape. On the occasion of the Stellantis Investor Day 2026, the Group CEO Antonio Filosa also spoke about what will happen to the Biscione in the coming years and how the new FaSTLAne 2030 industrial plan will influence the brand's range in the coming years. A future that in the short term should no longer include Giulia and Stelvio, which with their Quadrifoglio versions could cease to exist after 2027, effectively replaced by two C-segment vehicles, an SUV and a hatchback that aim to fill the void left in recent years by the 147 and Giulietta.

Stellantis's plans for Alfa Romeo

According to Stellantis executives, the Alfa Romeo range will particularly revolve around Junior, defined as the volume model and the car called to drive sales, along with Tonale, which will have a more global reach. Alongside them, the 33 Stradale, a pioneer for more focused special projects that can evolve further thanks to the new Bottega Fuoriserie.

No future for Giulia and Stelvio?

Giulia and Stelvio will therefore be in production until the end of 2027, including the most performing and emotional version, the Quadrifoglio. From that year onwards, there seems to be no immediate future for the sedan and the SUV that seemed destined first to become fully electric and then to have a multi-energy engine range. Neither of these options should materialize, with the brand focusing on a greater presence in segments B and C in line with the FaSTLAne 2030 plan.

It's not the final word

However, it is not said that there can no longer be D-segment Alfa Romeos. According to what was reported by the Biscione, the Arese brand is studying solutions to reinterpret the Giulia and Stelvio range, and therefore in the long term there could be a return of performance-oriented vehicles, also based on market developments. Multi-energy shared platforms will be used for this, with electric and hybrid engines.

New Alfa Romeo models

The new C-segment SUV will be built on the STLA M platform and will have different types of powertrains to be as competitive as possible. This model will be produced in Italy and will focus on design quality, performance, and driving pleasure. The hatchback, on the other hand, will be based on the new STLA One architecture, presented at the Investor Day 2026, and will benefit from cutting-edge technologies.
