AMD Expands FSR 4 Support to Older GPUs, Including RDNA2 and Integrated Chips

AMD announced FSR 4 upscaling tech expansion to older RDNA3, RDNA2 GPUs, and integrated chips, starting July 2026, with RDNA2 support in early 2027, potentially benefiting PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam Deck. Performance may take a hit due to hardware differences. Modders already achieved FSR 4 on INT8 GPUs with a 10-20% performance drop. AMD’s move supports older GPU owners and competes with Nvidia’s DLSS. FSR 4.1 will be available via a July driver update for Radeon 7000-series cards, with compatibility for games supporting FSR 4 or FSR 3.1 through driver forcing.
