Chiara Balistreri, a 23-year-old from Bologna and former participant of the reality show 'Isola dei Famosi', has expressed her deep distress and outrage on social media following a call from the Bologna police. She was informed that her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Costantin, a 24-year-old Romanian national, will return home in two days under house arrest with electronic monitoring.

Balistreri stated, "I do not accept this device, I don't want any device, because if something were to happen to me, all those who made the decision to send him home yet again will have it on their conscience." This is the latest in a series of public statements made by Balistreri, who in November 2024 reported the alleged violence she suffered from Costantin on TikTok.

Last month, Balistreri had already shared her discontent on social media regarding a 4-month sentence reduction Costantin obtained in the appeal process for abuse and assault, compared to his first-degree conviction of 6 years and 3 months. This time, speaking tearfully from her Instagram profile, she addressed the Court of Appeal's decision to place her ex-boyfriend under house arrest with an electronic tag.

In a separate proceeding last January, Costantin had already been sentenced in the first degree to one year for stalking under an expedited procedure.

"This is a state that does not protect us," Balistreri declared. "I brought you all with me through my entire battle, but it is also right to show you the defeat I suffered today and how little we women are worth to this state." She further elaborated on Costantin's alleged behavior, stating, "It is not enough for the state that he has already escaped from house arrest restrictions once, it is not enough that he was part of a huge fight in prison, that he has repeatedly shown violence towards other inmates, that he beat his cellmate a few months ago and broke his jaw. The decision to send him home because he deserves a second chance was made by three women, and this fact disgusts me even more. But if I make a mistake, I am sure they make me serve my full sentence."

The young woman concluded by saying, "The truth is that I myself have no justice, and the little I was given has also been taken away."
