Bomb Threats at Delhi High Court and Airport Terminal Declared Hoaxes Amid Tightened Security

The Delhi High Court and Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport received bomb threats via email on Friday, a day before Independence Day, prompting immediate security responses. Searches conducted by multiple agencies, including deployments of bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs, found no suspicious objects, leading to the declaration of the threats as hoaxes.

The Delhi High Court’s Registrar General alerted the Delhi Police after receiving an email threatening a blast at 2:11 pm. Joint Secretary Advocate Kunal stated the threat appeared fake, with the situation under control. Similarly, Terminal 3 of the airport underwent security checks following a separate email threat.

Authorities attributed the threats to Babar Khalsa Canada, with references to Khalistan in the emails. Despite the hoaxes, security across Delhi was tightened, with the Delhi Fire Department reporting checks at five locations, all yielding no results.

The incidents highlight the heightened security measures in Delhi ahead of Independence Day, with police and agencies investigating the source of the threats.
