Australian Eddie Nketia has once again smashed the all-conditions 100m record with another massive tailwind propelling him to double gold at a college track meet in the United States.

The former New Zealander who switched allegiances to Australia late last year won the 100m and 200m at the Big Ten Track and Field Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Running for the University of Southern California (USC), Nketia stormed to victory in the 100m in 9.74 seconds.

For the second time this season, the 25-year-old stopped the clock in a time that would have smashed Patrick Johnson's national record of 9.93 seconds, only for an illegal tailwind to rule it out of contention.

A tailwind of 5.6 metres per second, almost three times the legal limit, was howling at the University of Nebraska as Nketia flew to victory.

"Lesss make it legal next time," he wrote on Instagram.

Nketia then followed up with victory in the 200m in a time of 20.03 seconds, with an even bigger +7.5 tailwind.
