F-16 Jets Scrambled to Escort Civilian Aircraft from Trump's Golf Club Airspace

F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to escort civilian aircraft out of restricted airspace above President Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday, according to NORAD. The incident, which delayed the President’s return to Washington D.C. by approximately 13 minutes, highlights the stringent security measures in place during his visits.

A local resident captured the F-16s escorting the civilian planes on camera, posting dramatic footage on social media. NORAD stated that two craft were successfully led away after breaching temporary flight restrictions (TFRs), while a third reestablished communications and became compliant without intervention.

The disruptions occurred as Trump spent the weekend at his Bedminster club, coinciding with the LIV Golf New York tournament. This incident follows a pattern of security concerns around the President, including the arrest of Jeanine John Taele for taking photos and videos at Trump’s California golf club, where authorities found hollow-point ammunition and a loaded firearm.

Previous attempts on Trump’s life, including a sniper attack in Pennsylvania and an attempted shooting in Florida, underscore the high threat level. Secret Service Director Sean Curran noted the current threat level is “off the charts,” with over 10,000 threats against government officials and Supreme Court justices in 2026, a 40% increase from 2025.

Trump reflected on the dangers of presidency in a recent Fox & Friends interview, stating, “Being president is a very dangerous profession.” The White House and Pentagon have been contacted for comment on the Bedminster incident.
