Members of Jaypee Golf Club in Noida face uncertainty as Jaiprakash Associates' insolvency process nears completion. They demand answers from the resolution professional and Adani Group regarding ownership and alleged changes to the club's master plan. Lifetime memberships are reportedly being shortened, and the club is opening to the public with commercial development replacing private facilities.

New Delhi: As the government moves to take over Delhi’s elite Delhi Gymkhana Club, uncertainty is also mounting among members of another exclusive institution — the Jaypee Golf Club in Noida— as the insolvency resolution process of Jaiprakash Associates nears conclusion.

Members of this club, at sector 128 in Noida, are seeking clarity from the resolution professional and the Adani Group over the future ownership and status amid talk of changes to the exclusive project’s master plan.

Members have alleged that the lifetime membership is being reduced to 30 years and that the club is now open to all, with a large portion dedicated to commercial use.

Around 75 life members of Boomerang – The Club, C'est la vie at Jaypee Greens Wish Town - have issued six formal demands to Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) and its Resolution Professional (RP).

The members also allege that the land designated in the approved Master Plan for their private, members-only, club has been replaced, without regulatory sanction or member notification, by a commercial complex called the Boomerung Complex.

"The Boomerung Complex does not exist in the Master Plan of Jaypee Greens Wish Town. Who authorised the building of a commercial complex in place of a private, members-only, exclusive club?” said Ravi Capoor, Secretary, Government of India (Retd), and co-signatory to the joint representation of Boomerang members.

Members are demanding that JAL and the RP produce the competent authority's written sanction for the commercial construction, all planning and zoning approvals, and an explanation of who authorised Jaypee Hotels Ltd — with whom members hold no contract — to collect their annual subscription fees.

They also demand audited accounts for all maintenance deposits held on members' behalf, and a full count of life members with clarity on their contractual entitlements.

"When a company is going through an NCLT-driven insolvency process, no asset transfer can take place other than through the NCLT process — not by the management, not by the promoters. The management also cannot take away the rights of lifetime club members without their explicit consent,” said Subramanian Murali, a Boomerang Club member and senior finance professional.

Members have formally asked the RP to confirm whether he permitted the Jaypee Hotels arrangement.

There are about 8,000 homebuyers across multiple JAL projects. They are expected to get delivery within two years of the Adani Group taking over.

In projects such as Jaypee Greens Wish Town in Noida, many apartments were booked around 2011. Many buyers have already made substantial or full payments, and several towers remain incomplete.

“Adani has a chance to do what JAL never did — honour the contractual obligations of Boomerang – The Club, C'est la vie, and treat this community with honesty and respect,” said Captain JJ Nijhawan, Secretary, Wish Town Golf Members Committee.

The Adani Group and the RP did not respond to ET’s email query.

Members are expecting delivery of the full 50,000 sq ft, three-storeyed, private, members-only facility as represented at the time the memberships were sold.

On March 17, 2026, the Allahabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved Adani Enterprises’ Rs 14,535 crore resolution plan for JAL, whose assets include major real estate projects such as Jaypee Greens and Jaypee International Sports City. JAL had entered insolvency after a series of defaults, making it one of India’s largest and most closely watched bankruptcy cases.

Adani Group’s approved plan earmarked nearly Rs 2,074 crore for homebuyer claims and offered buyers a clear choice — either they can opt for delivery of their homes within two years or seek a refund of the actual purchase price paid if they choose to exit. The plan also included Rs 800 crore.
