中新网比勒陀利亚5月25日电 (记者 孙翔)当地时间5月25日，江苏昌明教育基金会(简称“新教育基金会”)代表在南非行政首都比勒陀利亚向南非国家图书馆捐赠“新教育实验作品”等中国教育主题图书，以书为媒推动中南教育与文化交流。
新教育基金会理事长刘其琛代表捐赠方致辞表示，希望此次捐赠能够为非洲教育研究者提供了解中国教育创新的窗口，为中非教育合作注入新的活力。他表示，书籍捐赠只是起点，希望未来以此为契机，与南非出版界、教育界开展更多交流、沟通与合作。

此次捐赠的图书共计10种，内容涵盖中国教育改革实践、中国教育思想以及中国现代教育理念等。据介绍，“新教育实验作品走进世界知名图书馆”项目以公益形式向世界各大图书馆捐赠相关图书，为海外学者提供研究中国教育问题的第一手资料。
南非国家图书馆首席执行官拉尔夫·林克斯博士(Dr Ralph Links)对中方捐赠表示感谢，并希望双方未来进一步深化合作。
南非国家图书馆公众参与与阅读推广高级经理马库斯·马菲莱(Mr Marcus Maphile)介绍了南非全国图书馆体系，以及政府近年来在提高识字率和推动终身学习方面所作努力。他表示，希望未来能够有更多中国书籍进入南非，并进一步覆盖至省一级图书馆，让读者受益。
