추가의정서는 IAEA 전면안전조치협정(CSA) 하에서 미신고 핵활동 감시 공백 해소를 위해 마련됐다.
교육에는 아시아태평양과 유럽, 북미 등 원자력 도입 잠재국 및 이용국 17개국 30여 명이 참여했다.
특별 분과에서는 한국의 핵물질 계량관리와 관련한 정보제공의 제도적·기술적 우수 사례를 전파하고, KINAC이 독자 구축한 가상환경(VR) 기술 기반 현장모사 검사 실습 기회도 제공했다.
이나영 KINAC 원장은 "이번 교육은 한국이 오랜 기간 축적해 온 핵 비확산 이행 경험을 국제기구와의 협력을 통해 국제사회에 환원한 성과"라며 "앞으로도 국제원자력기구와 협력을 강화해 우리나라의 핵 비확산에 대한 국제적 신뢰 확보에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
