Hardline right-wing activist Laura Loomer has said she will personally ask President Donald Trump to send a shipment of signed “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hats to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidential palace via a “high-tech delivery drone”.

Loomer has backtracked on her position as one of Ukraine’s biggest critics, who has pushed a string of Kremlin-friendly narratives, and declared her support for the country’s cause against invasion by Russia – having conducted an interview with Zelensky for her social media channels that is yet to be released.

In snippets shared on X, Loomer noted that Mr Zelensky was wearing a suit and “looks good” in one.

He had previously been criticised for wearing military gear on his first visit to the White House in a car-crash press conference in February 2025.

“I told President Zelensky he looks good in a suit, and that next time I want to see him in his MAGA hat,” she wrote in a post on X on Friday. The distinctive red hats are emblazoned with Trump’s original MAGA campaign slogan.

Ms Loomer said Mr Zelensky told her that Trump had gifted him a signed MAGA hat during his last visit to the Oval Office.

“Some of Zelensky’s advisors said that were sad they didn’t get their MAGA hats when they were at the White House even though they told me POTUS asked his staff to make sure they all got one. We should fix that.”

She then said: “I am going to personally ask President Trump to sign a bunch of MAGA hats and I will see if the White House will ship them to Zelensky’s presidential palace.”

Considering that the country is an active war zone and that Mr Zelensky and his staff are likely to be subject to the highest security restrictions, she suggested: “We may need to air drop it with a high tech delivery drone since airspace is still closed in Ukraine. Either way, we will get this done.”

Mr Zelensky also revealed that he had repaired his relationship with Trump during a “historic” visit to the Vatican shortly after the heated press conference in February 2025. The pair spoke for around 15 minutes inside St Peter’s Basilica ahead of the funeral of Pope Francis.

“The tone has changed, absolutely,” he told Ms Loomer in response to a question about the shift in dynamic. “We had [a] first changing moment in Rome. It was not a long meeting but I always said it was this historic moment because we changed the relations during 15 to 20 minutes.

“Nobody was around us and I was very happy to hear the president. Let it be between the two of us but it was very good when we calmed down. I was very happy because a lot of life depends on relations.”

Ms Loomer had downplayed Russia's invasion of Ukraine and disseminated Russian propaganda to her nearly two million followers since the invasion but, this week marked a notable change of heart for the activist.

"Just experienced my first air raid in Ukraine. Sirens blaring. This is everyday for every Ukrainian," Ms Loomer posted on X. "I often said I don’t care. Looking back, that wasn’t very nice of me to say."

Protests, strikes, and a prolonged internet shutdown in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, particularly Poonch Division, have severely disrupted daily life, impacting healthcare access, education, and businesses. Residents face fuel shortages, expensive transport, and financial difficulties, leading to fading public sympathy for the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in some areas.
