New trophy to reward combined efforts of men's and women's teams in The Hundred

A new trophy rewarding the combined efforts of the men's and women's teams in The Hundred will be introduced this summer.

The two competitions have been played alongside each other since the tournament began in 2021, with matches played as double headers on the same day and at the same venue in a bid to give both equal showing.

Results throughout the group stage, plus the eliminator and final, will count towards the new trophy.

The current men's and women's trophies will continue as normal.

The public can submit a potential name for the new silverware through The Hundred website.

England all-rounder Will Jacks, who won three men's titles with Oval Invincibles, told BBC Sport: "I think it's brilliant.

"If we look back over the past five years, the Invincibles would have had good success with that.

"With the double headers and teams playing on the same day, to then have both of those results counting towards the same trophy is very exciting."

Last year, a combined trophy would have been won by Northern Superchargers, whose men's team lost in the eliminator before their women's side won their title.
