NSW Police Homicide Squad detectives have announced a $1 million reward for information relating to the unsolved murders of two women in Newcastle in 2000.
The bodies of 37-year-old Joanne Teterin and 32-year-old Susan Kay were found by police at a home on Doran Street, Carrington, on Wednesday, May 12, 2000.
Investigators at the time concluded the women were last seen alive on Thursday, May 11, before being found, allegedly bludgeoned to death.
Despite investigations by the Homicide squad and Newcastle Police at the time, no arrests were made.
A 2003 coronial inquest recommended the matter be probed by the Homicide Squad's Unsolved Homicide Unit, and a $100,000 reward was offered for information.
A police spokesperson said, in a statement, that the review was finalised in 2025 and has "unearthed fresh forensic opportunities that have since become the focus of police inquiries."
Police will address the media this morning in Newcastle.
