SEOUL, July 8 (Yonhap) -- Renault Korea and Kakao Mobility have agreed to collaborate on next-generation mobility services, including high-precision mapping, software and in-vehicle infotainment technologies, the companies said Wednesday.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding to promote mobility innovation and advance connected in-vehicle services.
Under the agreement, they will cooperate in various future mobility areas, including high-precision mapping and software technologies for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as well as in-vehicle infotainment and connectivity services.
During the NextRise startup exhibition last month, Renault Korea unveiled a future mobility concept vehicle based on the Grand Koleos, equipped with the Kakao T taxi driver app, a rear-seat entertainment system for passengers.
Renault Korea has been collaborating with external partners, including Kakao Mobility, TMAP Mobility, Valeo and Smash Labs, to develop future mobility technologies and services under its open innovation strategy.
