국방부와 방위사업청은 2일 국방반도체법 제정안이 국무회의를 통과해 이달 중 공포된다고 밝혔다.
지난달 7일 국회 본회의를 통과한 국방반도체법은 ▲ 신뢰성시험·인증체계 구축 ▲ 연구개발을 통해 확보한 국방반도체의 우선구매 등 내용을 담고 있다.
국방반도체 관련 별도의 전담 법률을 제정해 자립화 및 안정적 공급망 확보를 위한 종합적 제도 기반을 마련하겠다는 취지다.
이를 통해 민간 반도체 산업과는 다른 국방반도체의 특수성을 정책에 반영할 수 있을 거라고도 정부는 보고 있다.
우리 무기체계에 적용되는 국방반도체의 해외 의존도는 99%에 달하는 것으로 알려졌다. 따라서 국제정세에 변동성이 커지고 공급망 교란이 발생하면 수급 불안정으로 무기체계를 적시 전력화하는 데 지장을 빚을 수도 있다는 우려가 나온다.
