Teenage Boy Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing on NSW Central Coast

A teenage boy has been charged with murder following the death of a man on the NSW Central Coast.

Emergency services were called to Mann Street, Gosford, about 7:30pm on Tuesday, July 28.

A 22-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene, but he later died at Gosford Hospital.

Following investigations, police attended a home at Lake Haven in the early hours of this morning and arrested the boy, 15, and a 45-year-old woman.

The woman has been charged with hindering the apprehension of a person who committed a serious offence.

Woman granted bail

The 45-year-old fronted court this morning, with her lawyer putting forward a bail application, which was opposed by the police prosecutor.

The prosecutor told the court she hindered police efforts when they were attempting to arrest a young person wanted on a serious charge.

Her lawyer, Javid Faiz, told the court his client is a mother of two and is caring for a child with special needs.

He acknowledged it was a serious matter and a tragic incident involving young people.

Mr Faiz told the court the matter was not gang related and "something that occurred over a hat".

When granting bail, Acting Judge Leslie Brennan said the police facts allege the woman was hiding a young person wanted for murder.

"Police had to break a door down to gain entry," Acting Judge Brennan told the court.

He added that "it does seem she was hindering" but it was unclear if she knew the boy was wanted for the matter.

The woman must report to police once a week.

The matter will return to court on August 11.
