Three Men Injured as Glass Panel Falls from Crane at Albury Park

Three men have been injured after a glass panel fell from a crane onto them at a park in Albury on the New South Wales-Victoria border. Several emergency workers attended the scene, which occurred around noon today. What's next? Three men have been injured, with one in a critical condition, after a workplace accident in which a glass panel was dropped from a crane onto them. A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said paramedics were called to Glen Park in the northern Albury suburb of Glenroy around noon today after reports of the panel being dropped at the worksite. It is believed two sets of thick glass panels were being moved from a shipping container via crane to another area of the park. All three men were sent via ambulance to Albury Hospital, with a man in his 20s sustaining critical injuries to his head, chest and leg. Another man, also in his 20s, had injuries to his leg and back and was in a serious but stable condition. A third man of unknown age had minor injuries. A SafeWork NSW spokesperson said the organisation was investigating the incident. "SafeWork NSW has been notified and is responding to an incident at a construction site at Glenroy … where three workers have been injured, " the spokesperson said. "SafeWork NSW inspectors are on site and making enquiries. "As enquiries are ongoing, no further comment is available at this time. " NSW Police officers and forensic investigators were still at the scene several hours after the incident occurred.
