Warum es wichtig ist

The article describes a rugby league match between the Wests Tigers and the Manly Sea Eagles. The Wests Tigers' defence is highlighted as being particularly poor, leading to tries for the Sea Eagles. Oh boy, Tigers fans may want to creep back under their bedclothes and pretend this isn't happening.

More woeful defence from the Tigers, Brooks fending off one to pass to Garrick, who fended off another to pass the ball to Saab on the edge 60 metres from the tryline.

He's such a long way out that it shouldn't be an issue, but this is the Tigers defence and they capitulate again - Saab tiptoeing down the line and fending off two, out-pacing another to score under the posts.

Horrible for the Tigers.

The lead is 12-0.

The Tigers were on the back foot again there.

The Sea Eagles are just carving through some absolutely horrid defence from the Tigers.

Brooks got the ball and moved to the right edge this time, looking for Reuben Garrick on the outside.

But Haumole Olakau'atu was in the way and stuck an arm out, the ball deflecting off his giant paw forwards denying Manly another try.

Tolutau Koula crosses for the first try of Super Saturday!

Taylan May kicked the ball limply on the last for the Tigers.

Luke Brooks mopped up, skipped past a tackle and passed out to Koula on the left wing.

Koula, from inside his own half, just skipped past five pathetic tackle attempts from the Tigers defence, which parted like the Red Sea, to score under the posts.

Wow, that was horrible defence from the Tigers.

The kick is good and it's 6-0.

Benji Marshall and Kieran Foran were having a long chat on the field about an hour or so ago.

The two men would have been coming up against each other on the field not too long ago, but now they're going to lock horns in the coaching box.

"It's very exciting to come up against Benji," Foran just told Fox Sports.

"We just caught up on the field ... I think he said whoever loses shouts dinner tonight.

"I have all the admiration in the world for Benji and what he's done with the Tigers.

"I'm inspired to follow in his footsteps."

Looks like there's a lot at steak tonight then for the two former Kiwi internationals...

Foz-ball vs Benji-ball - let's go.

Jamal Fogarty may be ready and roaring to make his Manly return - which he will do today - but coach Kieran Foran says teenage sensation Joey Walsh will still play an integral part in Manly's push for the NRL finals.

The 32-year-old's inclusion has relegated Walsh to the bench after showing glimpses of his glittering potential across the past two games for Manly.

The strong performances came after Foran initially followed in ex-Manly coach Anthony Seibold's footsteps to keep the 19-year-old developing in the NSW Cup.

"Everyone's seen just what this guy is capable of, and we've made no secret about how excited we are about Joey's future," Foran said on Friday.

"We're just going to keep building on what he's done for us. He's going to play an integral part in our season this year and for many more years to come.

"It's a great headache to have as a coach. You've got another half ready to go, and putting pressure on these two guys now for the rest of the season."

Fogarty was tipped to return for last Saturday's 32-4 thumping of Brisbane, but was given the extra week off, and Foran believes it did him a world of good.

The 21-year-old, 192 cm, 106kg Indigenous forward has been on the cusp of a call up for a while now, but he is going to get his chance for Wests Tigers off the bench today.

A NSW City U18s representative, Roberts has appeared for the Roosters at Harold Matthews, SG Ball, Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup level.

The Paddington Colts junior also featured for the Roosters in the NRL Pre-Season Challenge and found himself in the extended NRL squad on several match days throughout the regular season, signing for the Tigers last year.

The Tigers have suffered another player blow with lock Alex Twal ruled out with a knee injury on Friday.

Api Koroisau is still suspended so Latu Fainu shifts to hooker.

Terrell May also returns after the birth of his child as he looks to make a last-minute pitch for a State of Origin spot with NSW.

Blues coach Laurie Daley will name his side after Magic Round, and with barnstorming prop Payne Haas (knee) set to miss the May 27 opener, it has opened the door for May's inclusion after producing several big performances for the Tigers this campaign.

"Nothing surprises me anymore. I thought he [May] should have made it last year," Wests coach Benji Marshall said.

"But again the footy does the talking, so he's got a good opportunity to go and put his case forward again. But I think he's been great for us."

Here's how we line up for our first match of the day.

Tigers

Benji Marshall has made a few changes from the team that lost last weekend.

Terrell May starts at prop after a late withdrawal last weekend due to the birth of his child.

Latu Fainu will start start at hooker, while Tristan Hope shifts to the bench.

Sione Fainu moves to lock and Alex Seyfarth joins the starting side in two the back row.

Sea Eagles

Late changes for Kieran Foran, who brings Zach Dockar-Clay into the starting side, with Jake Simpkin going to the bench.

The big inclusion for the Sea Eagles is Jamal Fogarty, who makes his return after two weeks on the bench, his able replacement Joey Walsh dropping to be bench and no doubt chomping at the bit to get back into NRL action.

Clayton Faulalo starts at fullback, Tolu Koula moves to the centres, while Kobe Hetherington has been named on the interchange as he returns from a concussion.

Grant Atkins is our referee.

Good afternoon Magic fans and welcome to day two of the NRL's festival of fun in Brisbane.

My name is Simon Smale and I am with you here at Lang Park all afternoon, into the evening and through the night as we enjoy three games of footy in the Sunshine State.

We'll start with Wests Tigers vs Manly Warringah at 3:00pm, a game rich in potential given how the Sea Eagles are playing at the moment, especially if the Tigers can rediscover their bite.

After that, from 5:30pm, we'll get straight into the Roosters against the Cowboys, which could be the game of the day truth be told.

Then, to wrap things up, we'll have the Eels and the Storm from 7:45pm going at it in a clash between 14th and 15th on the ladder - hands up if you had that pop up in your crystal ball at the start of the year.

As I write this it is currently sunny, but I have no doubt that will change given the ominous look of the clouds around the place as I came in on the bus - but even a dubious forecast can't dampen the enthusiasm for another full slate of rugby league for your Saturday afternoon, so welcome.
