Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Praised by Sachin Tendulkar, Touted for Test Cricket

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a 15-year-old batting sensation, has impressed Sachin Tendulkar with his powerful strokeplay and record-breaking IPL 2026 season, prompting discussions about a potential India call-up and Test cricket debut. Sooryavanshi enjoyed a remarkable IPL 2026 season for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 776 runs at a staggering strike rate of 237.31. His tally of 72 sixes shattered the record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, surpassing Chris Gayle's previous mark of 59. Tendulkar described Sooryavanshi as "truly special" and said he would love to see the youngster play Test cricket, but cautioned against rushing him into the format. Sooryavanshi has also been included in India's 30-member probables list for the upcoming Asian Games. The men's cricket competition at the Asian Games is scheduled from September 24 to October 3.
