Heather Knight hopes this summer's T20 World Cup on home soil can be transformative for women's cricket in the UK, nine years after England won the 2017 edition. The 35-year-old captain admits the success was not fully capitalised on due to lack of professional structures at the time. England have not won an ICC trophy since 2017, losing finals to Australia in 2018 and 2022, and semi-finals to South Africa in 2023 and 2025. Knight believes the domestic game is now in a different place with professional structures and The Hundred in place, and hopes to maximise the opportunity of hosting.
