The UK government has announced £25m in extra funding to boost police patrols and protections around synagogues, schools and community centres following a stabbing attack in Golders Green, north-west London. Two Jewish men were stabbed in what police have declared a terrorist incident. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said she understands the fears faced by the Jewish community, responding to comments by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis that visibly Jewish people are no longer safe in the UK.
