Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid announced Sunday he will merge his Yesh Atid party with Naftali Bennett's Bennett 2026 party to form a unified political force aimed at unseating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in October elections. The two former prime ministers, who previously governed together in 2021 before the coalition collapsed, will lead the merged party with Bennett as head. Both have been vocal critics of Netanyahu's handling of conflicts since October 2023.
