Veteran Finds Healing Through Bourbon Tasting as 'Taste Mindfulness'

Fred Minnick, an Iraq War veteran with PTSD, discovered healing through bourbon tasting as a form of mindfulness therapy. After returning from deployment in 2004-2005, he struggled with anger and anxiety until his VA therapist suggested using his love of food and flavors as a meditative practice. He now teaches "taste mindfulness" workshops and has written eight books about bourbon, including a recent one about his journey home from war that has resonated with fellow veterans.
