Sony Pictures Networks India has named Harsh Deep Chhabra as its new Head of Strategy and New Business. Chhabra, formerly of Godrej Consumer Products Limited, will report to CEO Gaurav Banerjee to drive growth and strategic initiatives.
Sony Pictures has tapped Zach Cregger, writer-director of Oscar-winning horror film Weapons, to direct a new Resident Evil film. The project marks another attempt to reboot the franchise after 2021's poorly received Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City grossed just $42 million globally. The new film, starring Austin Abrams as protagonist Bryan, will be an original story set in the Resident Evil universe rather than a direct game adaptation, releasing September 18, 2026.
