Two pilots killed in T-34C trainer jet crash during simulated engine failure training

Two Taiwanese Air Force pilots, Lt. Col. Guo Jun-nan (46) and Lt. Col. Lu Ji-you (41), were killed when their T-34C trainer jet crashed shortly after takeoff during a simulated engine failure exercise at Gangshan Air Base. The aircraft fell from approximately 500-1000 feet. The Ministry of National Defense has grounded the T-34C fleet and ordered a thorough investigation.
