UK terrorism threat level raised to 'severe' after Jewish community attacks
The UK government has raised the terrorism threat level from 'substantial' to 'severe' following a stabbing attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green, north London. The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) cited increased Islamist and extreme right-wing threats, with the UK Jewish community specifically targeted in multiple recent incidents. The last time the threat level was 'severe' was February 2022. The suspect, 45-year-old Essa Suleiman, remains in police custody.
