Hong Kong health authorities have penalised at least two residents for vaping in Admiralty as they begin enforcing a new law banning alternative tobacco products. The Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office conducted a patrol in a business district on Thursday, issuing penalties without warning. From April 30, anyone carrying more than five vape pods or 100 heat sticks in public faces a maximum fine of HK$50,000 and up to six months in jail, while smaller quantities incur a HK$3,000 fixed penalty.
