Billy Loughnane rides Bow Echo to 2,000 Guineas victory at Newmarket
20-year-old Irish jockey Billy Loughnane won his first Classic, riding Bow Echo to victory in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Loughnane guided the 9-2 chance to a 2.75-length win over joint favourite Gstaad, making him the youngest winner since Donnacha O'Brien in 2018. The victory also made trainer George Boughey, 34, the youngest trainer to win both the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas in the post-war era.
