The New York Times reports that Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is using an unusual communication system of handwritten letters passed through a human chain of couriers to avoid detection by the US and Israel. The report claims he was injured in a US-Israel strike in late February that killed his father Ali Khamenei, and is now directing the country from a secure undisclosed location while recovering from extensive injuries including facial damage and a leg requiring prosthetic.
