Man 'punched victim so hard he killed him' to 'save his own face' at Crown Inn, court hears

Nathan Gothard is on trial at Leicester Crown Court for the murder of David Darke, 66, outside the Crown Inn in Appleby Magna, Leicestershire, on 21 December. Prosecutors allege Gothard, who had been ejected for making unwelcome advances to women, picked a fight with another man, lost, and then attacked Darke - who had helped him to his feet - 'to save his own face', punching him so hard he died from head injuries days later. Gothard denies murder and manslaughter.
