Hedgehog rescued from drain pipe in Fife after four days stuck

A hedgehog was rescued from a rusty drain pipe outside Markinch town hall in Fife after being stuck for at least four days. The animal, initially thought to be a baby, turned out to be a chunky adult male weighing 982g. Rescuers from Burntisland Hedgehog Haven used cooking oil to lubricate the pipe and eventually freed the creature, which was found covered in 37 ticks.
