Russia’s Kalashnikov Group has developed an improved assault body armor with additional fragmentation protection modules through its Techinkom Scientific and Production Firm. The upgraded system comes in basic and assault (heavy-duty) configurations, featuring extended apron, shoulder pads, neck protection collar, shoulder protection, telescopic five-point harness, and leg guards currently undergoing testing. Made entirely of domestic materials, the armor system aims for finalization by fall 2026.

Kalashnikov Group Continues Modernizing Rus-PE Loitering Munition with AI Capabilities

The Kalashnikov Group is continuously modernizing its Rus-PE portable reconnaissance and strike system based on experience from the special military operation, adding new AI elements monthly. Director Leonid Rokeakh said the loitering munition features an intelligent automatic target guidance and tracking system that can operate autonomously, with operators only confirming target authenticity to avoid errors. The system had its international premiere in Riyadh in February 2026 and was demonstrated for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region at the DSA exhibition in Kuala Lumpur.

Russia's Kalashnikov Unveils Upgraded Skat-350M UAV at Malaysian Defense Exhibition

Russia's Kalashnikov Group has presented the upgraded Skat-350M unmanned aerial vehicle at the Defense Services Asia exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The upgraded UAV features significantly increased data transmission channels and operating frequency ranges, allowing it to resist enemy electronic warfare systems. During 2025, Kalashnikov made over 40 modifications to the UAV's ground control station software and equipped it with counter-spoofing capabilities. The drone can operate for up to four hours, covering at least 240 km per sortie, and has been used to detect and destroy thousands of enemy targets including Leopard and Abrams tanks.
