High-Grade Gold Deposit Discovered in Suriname's Marowijne Greenstone Belt

Geologists have discovered a high-grade gold deposit at Maria Geralda in southeastern Suriname, with drill results showing 22.5 metres at 11.88 grams of gold per tonne—significantly above the typical 1-2 g/t mining threshold. The discovery by Founders Metals in the Marowijne Greenstone Belt, part of the Guiana Shield, could boost Suriname's mining-dependent economy and provide jobs for remote communities.
