The Children and Families Agency released the first-of-its-kind survey on sexual abuse in Japanese medical institutions, with 1,113 of 5,000 invited institutions responding. The survey found that 66.7% of individuals reporting sexual abuse were aged 19-39, while only 3.3% were aged 12-18. Professor Yoko Tsukamoto of the Health Sciences University of Hokkaido questioned the low numbers for the younger age group.
