Samsung SDS and LG CNS have secured reseller partnerships with OpenAI to sell ChatGPT Edu to educational institutions in South Korea. ChatGPT Edu is designed for schools and universities to provide AI services to students and faculty. Samsung SDS previously secured reselling rights for ChatGPT Enterprise in December.

Samsung SDS reported first-quarter net profit of 91.8 billion won, down 57.8% year-on-year, due to a 100 billion-won provision for retirement benefits following a change in severance pay calculation. Operating profit fell 70.8% to 78.3 billion won while sales declined 3.9% to 3.35 trillion won. The company announced plans to invest 10 trillion won in AI infrastructure and M&As by 2031, and recently secured a 1.2 trillion-won investment from KKR.

Samsung SDS has partnered with Google Cloud to collaborate on AI, cloud computing, and security sectors. The partnership was signed during Google Cloud Next 2026 in Las Vegas. Samsung SDS will leverage Google Distributed Cloud to expand into high-security and regulated markets such as public and financial sectors, and provide enterprise customers access to Google's Gemini Enterprise and agentic AI solutions through its Samsung Cloud Platform.
