Waleed Saeed, 31, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a six-year campaign of blackmail and sexual assault targeting Muslim males online. Police fear he may have up to 70 more victims.
Adam Hall, 43, of Washington, Tyne and Wear, has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 23 years after being convicted of deliberately infecting seven young men with HIV, four of whom he raped. One victim was just 15 years old. Hall, described by police as a "callous, calculating sexual predator," is only the second person in UK history to be found guilty of intentionally spreading HIV. He was diagnosed with HIV in 2010 but had unprotected sex with vulnerable young men from 2016 to 2023 without disclosing his status.
