
WHO declares Hantavirus outbreak on cruise ship over
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on the 2nd that the Hantavirus outbreak on a cruise ship in April-May has been declared over, as the last quarantined individual tested negative and returned home. The outbreak involved 13 cases, including 3 deaths, due to the rare human-to-human transmissible Andes strain. Meanwhile, the Ebola outbreak in Congo continues with over 1400 cases and 438 deaths.
