O Brasil venceu o quadro de medalhas da etapa de abertura da Copa do Mundo de Boxe em Foz do Iguaçu, com quatro ouros e cinco pratas entre 50 países. A seleção brasileira superou a China (4 ouros) e o Cazaquistão/Azerbaijão (3 ouros cada), superando o desempenho do ano passado quando terminou em segundo lugar. Os ouro foram conquistados por Luiz Oliveira (60kg), Yuri Falcão (65kg), Wanderley Pereira (80kg) e Isaías Filho (90kg).
