研究人員鎖定一個名為「vgll3」的特定基因。分析數據顯示,攜帶特定「vgll3」基因型的魚類,在生命早期發育與生長速度明顯較快,也更早達到繁殖成熟期。對於生活在乾旱地區、自然壽命本就有限的魚類而言,能夠提早繁殖代表具備更高的生存機會與繁衍優勢。
