Adam Scott Terrified by Horror Film 'Infinity Pool' On Set

Adam Scott, who has reached a new peak in his career with the hit series 'Severance,' was recently terrified to the point of questioning his life by a horror film. The annual thriller 'Infinity Pool,' from the production team of 'The Deep House' and 'Knock Knock,' stars him as he checks into a haunted hotel. Not only is the character tormented, but the filming process also caused him to break down frequently, even leading him to exclaim on set, "Oh my god, why are you doing this to me!"

The film is written and directed by Irish horror maestro Damien McCarthy. Having previously showcased his unique terrifying style with 'The Child's Game,' he once again creates a suffocating psychological horror world, gradually dragging the audience into an inescapable nightmare through a confined space, eerie illusions, and supernatural legends.

Adam Scott revealed that he was already restless reading the script due to the terrifying scenes. Even when filming began, he was often startled by the on-set effects, despite knowing when the scares would occur. He jokingly described the filming process as "very stimulating" and admitted that he would even scare himself when watching playback footage. Director Damien was very satisfied with this, stating that Adam's terrified reactions were all very real, making him eager to see the character gradually fall into the abyss of fear.

The most crucial scene in the film takes place in the mysterious honeymoon suite, where forbidden legends about the hotel are circulated. The crew specially built this confined space, and Adam Scott filmed alone in it for three weeks. With dim, oppressive lighting and terrifying devices scattered around, he felt uneasy the moment he stepped onto the set, exclaiming, "This is one of the creepiest rooms I've ever been in!" He further added that the space felt so real it seemed to have its own smell, filled with a dead silence that made his body instinctively feel that he shouldn't be there.

This chilling atmosphere has successfully captivated international audiences. After its release, 'Infinity Pool' received considerable praise, with its Rotten Tomatoes score once reaching 97%. Many fans lauded the film for its blend of scares and atmospheric buildup, with one viewer describing it as "one of the most suffocating viewing experiences in recent years."

The film tells the story of the reclusive novelist Om Bowman, who, after the death of his parents, returns to the Irish countryside with their ashes and checks into the ancient hotel where his parents spent their honeymoon. However, the hotel is rumored to have forbidden legends about a mysterious witch, and the legendary honeymoon suite is designated as a forbidden area. As bizarre disappearances occur one after another, Om begins to experience hallucinations that blur the line between reality and illusion, gradually being dragged into a terrifying nightmare dominated by supernatural forces. 'Infinity Pool' will be released in Taiwan on June 17.
