Air India Crash Survivor Faces Trauma, Rumer Willis Gets Custody Win

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 39, the sole survivor of Air India flight 171, has had a difficult time since the crash. "What many people may not understand: The trauma did not end on the day of the catastrophe," he wrote in a short statement released by his legal representatives. A year ago, on June 12, 2025, an Air India passenger plane crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad, West India, just seconds after takeoff. A total of 260 people died in the crash, 19 on the ground and 241 on board; only one passenger survived: Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a Briton from Leicester, miraculously climbed out of the wreckage almost unharmed. Even Narendra Modi, India's Prime Minister, visited the lucky man in the hospital afterward. But twelve months later, luck is a tricky thing: Ramesh, who lost his brother in the crash, largely refuses interview requests. "I live with severe psychological scars," he wrote. The loss of his brother, but also "the constant unanswered questions about how and why this happened," weighed on him. Questions that all affected relatives ask themselves. "People need honesty, transparency, and answers, more than anything else," wrote Ramesh. So far, investigators have only presented a preliminary report on the cause of the crash; the final assessment is still pending.

Rumer Willis, 37, actress and daughter of Bruce Willis, has achieved a partial victory in her dispute with her ex. As reported by US media, she was granted primary custody of her daughter Louetta, 3. Willis was involved in a bitter legal dispute with her ex-partner Derek Richard Thomas over this. According to media reports, the parties agreed to share custody and have an evaluation carried out. In the meantime, the judge granted Willis primary custody, while Thomas receives visitation rights, allowing him to see the child every second weekend. Thomas is "very satisfied" with the decision, his lawyer told People magazine. He is thus receiving "a solid and significant opportunity to revive and deepen his relationship with his daughter Louetta." Willis has not yet publicly commented on the decision. She and Thomas separated in 2024, and Willis wanted to deny him custody afterward because he had exhibited an "ongoing pattern" of "insane emotional abuse." Thomas's lawyer emphasized that he is "a loving, devoted, and dedicated father."
