BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi Confronts Police Over Son's Accident Case in Shivpuri

A political storm brews in Shivpuri after a video surfaced showing BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi confronting police. BHOPAL: A political row has erupted in Shivpuri district after the BJP MLA from Pichhore constituency, Pritam Lodhi, was purportedly seen in a video warning Karera SDOP Ayush Jakhad over police action in connection with an accident case involving his son. In the video that went viral on Sunday evening, Lodhi is purportedly objecting to the questioning of his son, Dinesh Lodhi, and remarks allegedly made about him not appearing in Karera. He is purportedly heard accusing the officer of overstepping limits and saying that officials should work within the ambit of law. The MLA also purportedly alleged selective action by police, claiming some cases remain pending for years while his son's case was "highlighted". The viral video shows that the police officials are saying that due procedure was followed. The SDOP is purportedly saying that the action was taken as per rules, including questioning, issuing a challan for violations such as use of black film and hooter, and initiating cancellation of the driving licence. In the clip, he is also heard telling the officer, "Tere daddy ka ha kya Karera…vo aayega bhi, chunav bhi ladega… agar daddy me dum ho toh rok lena." The controversy stems from an April 16 incident in Shivpuri district in which five people were injured after an SUV allegedly driven by the MLA's son rammed into them within Karera police station limits. The vehicle reportedly hit a motorcycle and two women walking on the road, following which police registered a case and began an investigation. MLA Lodhi could not be contacted for his comments.
