对于背后成因,气象专家指出,近期的强降水是多个环流系统共同作用的结果。近一周以来,西太平洋副热带高压持续偏西偏北,强度偏强,其西侧偏南风将热带洋面的水汽输送至内陆。与此同时,中纬度冷空气较活跃,冷暖空气交汇形成强降水。南海夏季风目前处于爆发临界期,预计将于近期爆发。一般情况下,季风爆发的两周内,季风气流将携带更为充沛的西南暖湿水汽从热带印度洋和南海到东亚大陆,长江以南地区对流性强降水过程将显著增多。

中国气象科学研究院研究员刘伯奇提示,值得注意的是,自2020年以来,虽然长江以南春季累计降水量并未明显增加,但区域极端降水天数和极端降水强度均显著增加。

从更长期的时间尺度看,全球快速变暖叠加厄尔尼诺的发展使得大气含水量增加,也为中国汛期强降水事件发生提供了气候背景条件。

国家气候中心首席预报员陈丽娟介绍,目前赤道中东太平洋海温持续增暖,5月进入厄尔尼诺状态,热带大气对海洋的变化出现快速响应,有利于西太平洋副热带高压增强,为南方降水增多创造了水汽条件。但是强降水过程受到多种因素的影响,厄尔尼诺提供了一个背景条件,实际的天气气候特征存在多样性和复杂性。以最近的一个超强厄尔尼诺年——2016年为例,该年5月中国长江及以南降水较强,南方地区共出现7次强降水过程,和今年相似;但另一方面,2016年5月京津冀降水整体偏少,这和今年5月明显不同。(完)
