The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday continued its ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar for the fourth consecutive day, demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy and alleged lapses in the education system.

As part of its protest programme, the organisation announced a “diaper donation drive” at 6 pm today under the slogan “Diaper a day keeps leaks away.” The group said supporters were asked to bring diapers and write their demands for the minister’s resignation on them, and they would make sure they reach the education minister.

The protest site witnessed heightened activity and organisers alleged that Delhi Police attempted to shift barricades to restrict the protest area. The group claimed the move was aimed at “squeezing the protest space,” while also alleging that an attempt to bring in a truck into the area was prevented.

In a strongly worded statement, CJP said its supporters remained at the site overnight and resisted what it called an attempt to limit the agitation space.

The organisation also announced that one day of the protest would be dedicated to UPSC and SSC aspirants, inviting students to share their grievances on stage at Jantar Mantar. It appealed to aspirants to join the demonstration and raise concerns related to competitive examinations.

Separately, the group urged citizens who were unable to join the protest in person to light candles at their homes in memory of students affected by alleged irregularities in examinations.

CJP has been staging protests at Jantar Mantar since June 20, after holding its first demonstration on June 6. The group has said it will continue its indefinite agitation until the education minister resigns.
