이번 간담회는 앞서 소비자생활협동조합의 소관을 공정거래위원회에서 중기부로 변경하는 '소비자생활협동조합법' 개정안이 국회 본회의를 통과함에 따라 지역경제, 의료·돌봄, 대학생활복지 등 각 분야 생협이 겪는 애로와 건의 사항을 정책에 반영하고자 마련됐다.
이날 행사에서는 생협의 자생력 강화, 규제 개선 및 사업 지원 등 생협의 특성과 현장 여건을 고려한 정책 방향을 논의했다.
중기부는 현장 의견을 검토해 '소비자생활협동조합 발전계획' 수립 시 반영할 계획이다.
한성숙 중기부 장관은 "협동조합의 경쟁력 강화를 지원해 온 정책 경험을 바탕으로 생협을 포함한 협동조합의 성장 저변 확대를 위해 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
