Galaxy Corp., the agency behind K-pop star G-Dragon, said Friday it plans to open a robot-themed entertainment park in Seoul later this year, combining K-pop with robotics technology.

The 16,500-square-meter venue, located in eastern Seoul, will feature interactive programs tailored for children, as well as a concert hall for robot performances, according to the company.

The robots use motion-capture technology to learn the dance moves of K-pop artists, it added.

The park, which was partially opened to a limited number of visitors earlier this month, will officially open in August.

"We aim to create a robot-themed park where people can stay for about three to four hours," Galaxy Corp. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Choi Yong-ho said at a media event, adding that the company plans to hold more than 1,000 K-pop robot shows annually.

Founded in 2019, Galaxy Corp. manages various K-pop artists, including G-Dragon and Taemin of SHINee. The company also produced the hit "Physical: 100" series.

Choi also said the company is considering plans to go public either in South Korea or overseas.
