SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- Hanwha Eagles catcher Heo In-seo had four hits and drove in a run to help Team Nanum defeat Team Dream 10-2 in the final Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) All-Star Game at the iconic Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Saturday.
Heo, the first Eagles catcher to start an All-Star Game in 36 years, collected 13 out of 26 votes from the media for the All-Star Game MVP award on his 23rd birthay.
Team Nanum outhit its opponent 22-9.
Team Nanum featured players from the LG Twins, the Kia Tigers, the NC Dinos, the Kiwoom Heroes and the Hanwha Eagles. Team Dream had representatives from the five remaining clubs: the Samsung Lions, the Doosan Bears, the KT Wiz, the SSG Landers and the Lotte Giants.
The game was played before a sellout crowd of 23,750 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, which opened during the KBO's inaugural season in 1982 and will be torn down after this season. A domed ballpark will take its place in 2032.
Team Dream scored first in the bottom of the third inning, courtesy of Heo Kyoung-min's RBI single off An Woo-jin.
Tean Namum flipped the scoreboard in the top fourth, with Kim Ju-won's sacrifice fly and Lee Do-yun's RBI single giving their side a 2-1 lead.
Nanum then blew the game wide open with a five-spot in the top sixth, as a trio of Eagles representatives did the heavy lifting.
First, it was Heo In-seo with an RBI single. Then Lee Do-yun delivered a two-run single to give himself three RBIs on the night, and designated hitter Kang Baek-ho made it a 6-1 game with a sacrifice fly.
Han Jun-su of the Tigers then added an RBI single for a 7-1 Nanum lead.
Nanum's lead grew to 10-1 in the top eighth, thanks to Han's RBI double, Moon Hyun-bin's RBI triple and Gu Bon-hyeok's run-scoring single.
Team Dream scored an inconsequential run in the bottom ninth.
The All-Star Game has increasingly embraced entertainment elements in recent years, with players taking the field in costumes and makeup that pay homage to film or animation characters.
